A candlelit study with old charts, a brass sextant, and leather-bound volumes

David Deych

Torah is the living operating system of reality. Strategy begins with seeing it clearly — the world, and yourself.

I advise founders, executives, and principals at the point where business decisions, human psychology, and moral truth stop being separate subjects. Referral-based practice. Limited engagements.

The work behind the work

Credentials earned in libraries. Tested under fire.

BA Behavioral Sciences (Psychology) · MSc Industrial Engineering & Management, Technion · Combat platoon commander, IDF · Founder & CEO, clean-tech company named Israel's #1 clean company · Yeshiva & kollel · Teaches Torah

Here is the actual claim: your business decisions, the psychology driving them, and what is morally true are not three separate conversations. They never were. Everything that follows — the academic training, the years in yeshiva and kollel, the teachers who shaped me — is what qualifies me to say that, not the reason you should believe it.

That also includes combat, business built and business lost, roads walked with nothing but a backpack, relationships that held and relationships that didn't, years genuinely lost before finding the way back. Call that last part grace. It's the only honest word for it.

The formal training matters — it is the difference between an instinct and an argument — but it has never been the whole instrument.

That preparation also includes years of serious yeshiva and kollel study. Torah here is not an academic interest added to the work. It is the ground beneath it.

I was privileged to learn from exceptional teachers and mentors who demanded more of me, opened what they knew, and shared what could not be learned from books alone. What they gave me now enters the room with every client.

My practice stands on four legs. Three can be named as disciplines. Torah, held as truth rather than tradition or metaphor: the account of how reality is actually constructed, and therefore the only serious ground for deciding anything. Strategy, as the discipline of acting under real uncertainty with real exposure. Psychology, because most failed plans were never intellectual failures — they were a founder refusing to see something about himself. The fourth is me: not personality or biography, but my own connection with Hashem, lived directly rather than studied at a distance, and the vessel I have been shaped into across my life and beyond the reach of my own making. It is not simply another item in the list. It is the foundation that lets me carry the other three rather than merely know them.

The work has taken me into rooms and circumstances that a conventional consultancy would not survive, let alone enter. I have found that the people worth advising are the ones who took the risk themselves: operators with skin in the water, not administrators guarding a fleet they never built.

The work is not confined to an office. Some of it happens in a boardroom, some on a plane, some in nature, some in a synagogue. It happens wherever the real conversation becomes possible. At times this site itself becomes a working instrument in the room: I pull it up mid-conversation to give us language, draw a distinction, or put the question in front of us — not as a brochure, but as part of the work.

The aim is larger than any single engagement. Every decision made with clarity instead of fear moves the world a measure closer to the state it is meant to reach.

Engagements

Four ways to work. None of them sold from a shelf.

Fees are set in conversation, against the stakes and the scope. Availability, not price, is the constraint.

I

Discovery Arc

For the first crossing.

A bounded diagnostic engagement. We map the actual terrain — the business, the psychology driving the decisions, and the moral architecture underneath both — and name the real problem, which is almost never the stated one. You leave with a clear reading of your position and a decision you can actually make.

II

The Expedition

For when the route is clear and someone has to walk it.

A fixed scope, a fixed horizon, and my hands on the work alongside yours. We name the one thing that has to move — a deal, a restructuring, a launch, a conversation no one wants to have — and we move it: the plan, the documents, the meetings, the follow-through. You don't leave with a recommendation. You leave with it done.

III

Founder / Executive Retainer

For those steering through sustained weather.

An ongoing advisory relationship. Standing counsel through the decisions that compound: capital, succession, partnership, expansion, rupture. Not a coach, not a board seat. A second mind held to the same standard as yours, available when the pressure is live rather than when the calendar allows.

IV

HNW / Complex Stakes

For lives run on several fronts at once.

Wealth, family, enterprise, reputation, and obligation rarely move in the same direction. This work holds all of them in one frame. Here discretion is not a courtesy around the deliverable — it is part of the deliverable. Engagements are limited and arranged privately.

How it works

Four steps, no theatre.

01

Inquiry

You write, in your own words, what is actually prompting the reach. Every note is read personally. No intake team, no funnel.

02

Conversation

If there is a fit, we speak directly. The purpose is to find the real question, and to establish whether I am the right person to sit with it.

03

Terms

Scope, cadence, and confidence are set explicitly before any work begins. Engagements are accepted by availability, not by application volume.

04

The work

Sustained, direct, and unhedged. You will be told what I actually think — including the parts that are inconvenient.

Inquiry

Write to me directly.

There is no booking link and no discovery call funnel. Tell me what is actually going on, and I will tell you honestly whether this is the right room for it.
